"Young Majoreros continue to get initiated to traditional games during the summer with the programme 'No Olvides Lo Nuestro''

Fuerteventura's Cabildo continues to promote traditional Canarian games during the summer with the programme called “No Olvides Lo Nuestro” (Don't forget what is ours). The programme therefore organised workshops of games such as the palo canario (Canarian stick), salto del pastor (the shepherd's jump) and bola canaria (Canarian bowls) on the beach of Los Pozos, in Puerto del Rosario, during Youth Week organised by the Ayuntamiento of Puerto del Rosario.

The modalities of salto de pastor, bola canaria and tángana where some of the activities that also took place in Lajares during the Summer Camp organised by the Association Sopa 09 and the Ampa of the CEIP school of Lajares. The activities took place as well at the Perinquén Camp organised at Tefía Hostel during the programme of leisure and training activities called Fuerteventura Joven organised by the Cabildo's Youth Council. During that day, 55 children aged between 8 and 13 years old participated in various workshops practising various Canarian traditional games.
