The tradition of the procession of the Virgen del Carmen in Corralejo is kept alive

Faith, devotion to the patron Saint and traditions were displayed like every year during the Procession at sea and on land of the Virgen del Carmen that was followed by thousands of people. After the religious ceremony and the procession through the streets of the village, with Canarian music and dances from the Folkloric Association Dunas de Corralejo and with visitors and the neighbours of the village, the virgin arrived on the beach to be embarked on El Niño, that was lent by Vicente Perdomo Santana. The association of fishermen and the neighbours of Corralejo kept up with the tradition of carrying the virgin for the whole trip. The 54 registered boats of the organisation ensured that the whole event took place without any incidents. .
