Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

How to find a good acupuncturist – part IV

Damay – Marimar (Damaymtc.com) Graduate in Traditional Chinese Medicine - Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Postgraduate in Chinese Pharmacopoeia

A good acupuncturist isn't different from any other health professional, he must be able to establish a therapeutic alliance with his patient. Furthermore, he must be able to appreciate the energetic system of the human being, as described by ancient Chinese Medicine. As there are no tools that allow us to see this system, the professional must be able to see it.

The understanding of the energetic nature of the human being is essential for the treatment process. It is an open system that is constantly exchanging its energy with that of the surrounding environment and people. The energy moves through the meridians in an orderly and timely manner, although it may vary at times. The acupuncturist advises his patients to live their lives in a coherent manner with the energetic flow of nature.

This means to give some advice in order to obtain a better quality of life. The energy of the acupuncturist is also important when he interacts and intervenes with the patient's energy. This is why he must nurture his energy in order to maintain a healthy level and stay very concentrated during the treatment. To be continued...
