Seven women receive an award from the Cabildo and the six ayuntamientos for International Women's Day

Fuerteventura's Cabildo presented awards to seven women of the Island on 8th March for International Women's Day. The third edition of the Awards Island of Fuerteventura: Women who count (Premios Isla de Fuerteventura: Mujeres que cuentan) that took place in the island's Auditorium in Puerto del Rosario, included the presence of the councillors of Equality and Citizen participation, Yanira Domínguez and Luisa Ramos, respectively, the mayor of Puerto del Rosario, Nicolás Gutiérrez, as well as representatives of the island's six municipalities, amongst others.

The seven women who received the awards for this third edition of the contest “Premios Isla de Fuerteventura: Mujeres que cuentan”, were: María Juana Ramos Ramos, rewarded in representation of the municipality of Antigua, Florentina Padrón Ruiz, rewarded in representation of the municipality of Betancuria, Francisca María de León Figueroa, rewarded in representation of the municipality of La Oliva, Sonia Ivonne Raso Castañeira, rewarded in representation of the municipality of Pájara, Desireé Chacón Ríos, rewarded in representation of the municipality of Puerto del Rosario and María Viera Saavedra, rewarded in representation of the municipality of Tuineje, Dolores Martínez Berriel, rewarded by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura.
