The chain Labranda Hotels recently announced during the ITB Fair in Berlin that they would start the refurbishment of the old Stella Canaris in May.

The chain plans on building there one of the largest holiday resorts in Europe. The deputy president and Tourism Councillor, Blas Acosta, met in Berlin with the representative of the chain, Roula Jouny, who presented the plans that the company has for the old Stella Canaris, acquired by Labranda Hotels & Resort in October 2016.

They will create a 2.000 room resort. On the other hand, the Majorero delegation also met with representatives of the German Tour Operator Alltours who announced that they will maintain their market share in Fuerteventura for the 2018 summer season and for the 2018/2019 winter season. Furthermore, Jet2, the main British operator that operates on the island of Fuerteventura, announced that they would keep on concentrating on Fuerteventura with operations from nine British airports.

Also, the manager of the quality department of TUI agreed with the councillor to animate courses from 25th until 30th June, in Corralejo and Morro Jable, on Quality leadership and Excellence in Tourism Services aimed at hotel and business directors.
